Now back to Library Thing. I set this up ages ago while I was playing around. Of course I can't remember what username and password I used. Never mind - I now have a new name and will need a new list to go with it.
My LibraryThing list of 5 books is now available. Frankly I have catalogued previously (only for a few hours at a time) and quite enjoyed it, but I can't see myself ever becoming interested in taking on the role of cataloguer.
Actually I can't see myself continuing to use LibraryThing. I don't put my books in order at home and I have heaps of them, so I am most unlikely to start entering the details online.
Do I need to look at LibraryThing from a library, author or other perspective? No to the author perspective, no to the publisher perspective - which leaves a Library perspective. Certainly not a large library, but useful for bookclubs and other groups.

I found "The Book Thief" to be a very good read yet one of my friends who "book opinion" I really respect said she couldn't get into it. Maybe it is because I find that period of history to be very interesting. It was very sad - I found it really difficult to get that image of her little brother in the snow out of my mind. Interesting also to use death as the narrator.
